TREE GUARDIAN

February 13, 2019

This Tree Guardian miniature was the first model I ever sculpted from a wire armature. He was a very large learning process and it was fun to learn how to sculpt using Milliput and hot glue to make bark textures.

I found when I started sculpting that bark and fur textures were the easiest thing start with, as it was random and anything worked.

I initially started making this character for one of my D&D characters, but unfortunately by the time I finished sculpting the Tree Guardian the campaign had finished after 1 session. Because of this I never had a reason to completely finish the guy, but a couple years later in a period of completing projects I managed to bring myself to paint him up and finish his base. In the end I'm proud of him as my first sculpt and am very happy at how far I have come since making him. :)
